Threadlines Sketchbook was composed of 110 hand-stitched drawings that each measured 4.5 in x 6.75 in and together covered an area of gallery wall that was 4 ft. h x 8 ft. w. Each piece was first randomly perforated using a commercial hemstitching machine. The installation was configured so that these perforated lines flowed from one card to another. The hand-stitching also continued from one piece to the next creating smaller compositions within the larger one. Each piece was numbered in the order it was stitched. Thus the numerical titles for the smaller compositions resemble exercises in addition.
